Dietary Changes Pulses



In boosting the immune system you need to eat a lot of protein.  I really enjoy pulses and beans.  Oh the after effects of eating say about half an hour the digestive system suffers with gas/flatulence and the thoughts of I wish I had not eaten those pulses.

I have now found through researching many vegetarian recipes the secret is to add a about a 1/4 tspn of Bicarbonate of Soda to the pulses whilst they soak overnight and then cook in the same water before adding to the main recipe or with Lentils cook them for 30 mins with Bicarbonate of Soda and then soak them overnight and finally add to recipe at the end to cook.  Who would have thought it, this works.

I am enjoying Lentil Soup nearly every day without the discomfort.

I little tip for those who would like to eat more beans and pulses.
