The Land of the Price Tag

Price Tags

The stranger in a harsh land still has center stage.

There is no let-up in the focus of the people.

Everywhere the Stranger goes everything comes with a price tag nothing is done out of kindness.

The Stranger has to pay for everything and always above the local price.

The prospective vendor’s eyes spin greedily and have a cutting glare like broken glass.

There is no softness many a time the Stranger would like to ask for help in simple things.

Impossible for them to do this without money.

How could the Stranger ask and not expect to pay?

The Stranger tires of the constant giving and no receiving.

One of them says “I will do this for you!”  The Stranger is grateful.

“Can you do this for me, today?”

“No, you just do it. It will be all right” shouting aggressively back at the Stranger.

Sigh, Sigh.

The Stranger has decided no more to be given to anyone. NO MORE kindness to anyone here.  Politeness will suffice.

The Stranger’s understanding and compassion has ceased. NO MORE.

Why should the Stranger continually be understanding and compassionate when there is nothing in return for them.

These energy vampires will suck you dry. Do you hear?

Their hardness and harsh lives will try to break you.

The only thing these people have to give is a “price tag” for everything.

Friendship and kindness all comes at a cost.

They have nothing to offer at all.

The Stranger retreats waits to move on.

Is this what our world is about?
